Job Title: Network Engineer

About the Role:
Pavago is looking for a skilled Network Engineer to architect, configure, secure, and oversee enterprise networks. This exciting role demands a deep technical understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, and network monitoring. As a Network Engineer, you will ensure that our networks are not only high-performing but also secure and resilient, supporting both daily operations and strategic infrastructure planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Configuration & Maintenance:
- Configure and manage routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Implement VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
- Apply firmware upgrades and ensure timely device patching.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor network performance with tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, or Zabbix.
- Utilize packet analyzers (Wireshark, TCPdump) to diagnose latency, packet loss, or routing issues.
- Resolve escalated tickets and conduct thorough root cause analyses.
Security & Compliance:
- Enforce firewall rules, access control lists (ACLs), and utilize intrusion prevention systems (Snort, Suricata).
- Support compliance with standards such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOX, and GDPR.
- Implement network segmentation and Zero Trust security models.
Performance & Optimization:
- Conduct bandwidth and capacity planning.
- Optimize load balancing and failover systems for high availability.
- Maintain a network uptime of 99.9% across client environments.
Documentation & Governance:
- Keep updated network diagrams, runbooks, and topology maps (using Visio or Lucidchart).
- Document changes following ITIL or change management processes.
Collaboration & Projects:
- Work closely with DevOps and cloud teams to integrate hybrid cloud networking (AWS VPCs, Azure VNets, GCP).
- Support office expansions, migrations, and new data center buildouts.
- Provide recommendations for hardware and vendor selection.

Required Experience & Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in network engineering.
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Solid understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and enterprise networking.
