At BIXI, we are a cornerstone of sustainable mobility in the Greater Montreal area and Estrie, boasting a network of over 12,500 bikes and 1,000 stations across thirteen cities in Quebec.
Our mission is to revolutionize urban experiences through active, accessible, innovative, and collaborative transportation. Established in 2014 by the City of Montreal, BIXI Montréal operates as a non-profit organization managing the bike-sharing system in the greater Montreal region.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Road Operations Supervisor, the Night Chauffeur is primarily responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and availability of the electric bikes within our network, thereby providing reliable and continuous service to our users. This involves replacing the batteries of electric bikes directly in the field, ensuring they are adequately charged, and utilizing a compact or electric vehicle for travel throughout the territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain ongoing communication with the dispatch team throughout the shift to receive routes and track interventions using a mobile application;
- Replace batteries of electric bikes to ensure their proper operation;
- Load and unload necessary equipment from the service vehicle;
- Drive a vehicle in busy urban environments, demonstrating vigilance and professionalism;
- Conduct basic diagnostics, perform required troubleshooting, and carry out minor repairs as needed;
- Actively participate in the deployment and removal of stations at the beginning and end of each season;
- Perform any other related tasks that may be assigned, including warehouse work, station assembly, truck washing, and handling tasks;
- Respond to customer inquiries about BIXI or direct them to customer service agents.
