GATEX is a dynamic and ambitious player in the international agro-trading sector, primarily focused on the export of Ukrainian agricultural products, including chicken, turkey, eggs, grains, and oil to various markets in Europe and Africa.
Founded by top executives from the agriculture sector with the backing of an investment fund, GATEX has secured contracts for 400–500 tons of products, established its trademark, and is expanding its international presence in regions such as the UAE, the UK, and Ukraine.
The company is currently in an active scaling phase, working on building systematic processes.
Role Objective
The Operations Director will be responsible for establishing an efficient operational system within the company, ensuring the fulfillment of international contracts, managing logistics, finances, and risks, while scaling the business without compromising quality or profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management
- Organizing the complete trading cycle (from procurement to shipment).
- Monitoring contract compliance.
- Managing logistics (multimodal transportation: warehouse – railway – port – vessel).
- Coordinating with suppliers, carriers, brokers, and warehouse operators.
- Quality control of products and liaising with inspection companies (such as SGS, Cotecna).
- Overseeing documentation, certification, and customs procedures.
2. Business Process Development and Optimization
- Identifying and resolving bottlenecks in the supply chain.
- Developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Preparing processes for scaling.
- Implementing ERP and automation systems.
3. Financial and Resource Management
- Developing and overseeing the operational budget.
- Monitoring P&L, cash flow, and profitability.
- Managing trade finance instruments (letters of credit, guarantees).
- Addressing currency risk.
- Optimizing financial processes for efficiency.
