Qualifications
Responsibilities:Actively drive transformation and industrialization of a fast-paced, growing manufacturing facility.Collaborate with operations teams to enhance labor efficiency and utilization.Increase capacity by minimizing cycle time and eliminating waste.Develop a detailed lean roadmap and ensure effective execution.Design and optimize production layouts, material flow, construction, and facilities using established manufacturing methodologies.Enhance work sequences and shop floor flow.Support and implement Kanban systems, pull systems/single-piece flow, point-of-use setups, 5S, and materials replenishment strategies.Measure and analyze cycle times versus TAKT, SWIP, and production load levels.Understand work cells, tools, and develop setups for point-of-use applications on the shop floor.Lead and support materials replenishment systems, incorporating supermarket and point-of-use concepts.Mentor interns, engineers, operations leaders, and cell leaders on continuous improvement and cost-effective practices.Identify, design, and execute process improvement initiatives, conducting process engineering, value mapping, and automation to ensure best practices are implemented across the board.

Operations Engineer (Thermal Hardware)
As an Operations Engineer at SpaceX, you will lead the transformation of Thermal Hardware Manufacturing, driving industrialization for high-volume production. This role involves developing and implementing manufacturing systems and controls through training, coaching, and collaboration on projects across various support functions. You will work hands-on on the shop floor to identify production constraints and bottlenecks, streamlining processes to enhance efficiency and resource utilization. Collaboration with internal plant leadership will be essential to foster a continuous improvement culture focused on waste reduction and the application of diverse manufacturing methodologies. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including productivity output, work in progress, lead time, and manufacturing costs, will measure the impact of your contributions, supporting a collective shift towards a business-value-driven approach while promoting ownership within the Operations team.
