YOUR ROLE
As an Emergency Veterinary Assistant, you’ll dive deep into the heart of emergency care from your very first day. Your role will involve supporting veterinary professionals, comforting pet parents, and gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. You will engage in triage, assist with treatments, and celebrate every tail wag. Your journey here is just the beginning; whether you aspire to become a credentialed technician or discover your unique path in veterinary medicine, we are here to support your growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a warm welcome and steady support during the triage of incoming patients, guiding them towards the care they need.
- Assist with various treatments, nursing care, and diagnostic procedures, including bloodwork, imaging, catheter placement, and oxygen support.
- Collaborate closely with our skilled veterinary technicians and veterinarians in anesthesia and sedation monitoring.
- Manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration effectively.
- Support care delivery in all environments, from outpatient visits to inpatient care.
- Participate in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care.
- Learn CPR and become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer (training provided).
- Advance into more complex responsibilities as you grow in your role.
