Schedule:
Part-time position requiring 32 hours per week.
Day shift hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with alternating weekends included.
The Environmental Services Technician (EVS Tech) embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, ensuring adherence to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, while complying with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other designated spaces daily, including trash collection, bed linen changes, and surface sanitization.
- Adhere to established patient isolation and contact precaution protocols as necessary.
- Restock paper supplies and other materials in designated areas as needed.
- Ensure all cleaning carts and equipment are kept in clean, functional condition and stored appropriately.
- Promote workplace safety by utilizing wet floor signs and personal protective equipment (PPE); avoid leaving carts or supplies unattended.
- Utilize cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively, ensuring proper dilution ratios and labeling.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor and inform management of any safety hazards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding work schedule completion and proactively address any observed deficiencies.
- Build and maintain respectful relationships with hospital staff while upholding patient confidentiality.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills when interacting with patients and customers, offering assistance and directions as needed.
- Utilize service recovery techniques to address service breakdowns promptly.
- Collaborate with co-workers across departments, valuing diverse opinions and acknowledging contributions from others.
