Job Overview
As a Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) at PetSmart, you will play a crucial role in engaging with pet parents and their beloved pets, ensuring a positive shopping experience that reflects our company’s mission and values. You will also assist in maintaining store cleanliness and upholding pet safety standards while directly caring for the pets in our store.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide exceptional customer service both in-person, over the phone, and online.
- Welcome pet parents and assist with their inquiries throughout the store.
- Prepare online orders for in-store pickup, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Care for store-owned pets, including feeding, watering, and maintaining clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, crickets, and fish).
- Uphold store cleanliness standards.
- Assist with price changes and promotional displays.
- Organize and stock merchandise according to sales floor plans.
- Promote and sell products, services, and live pets.
- Administer medications to store-owned pets as directed by a veterinarian.
- Encourage participation in special events such as adoption weekends and charity initiatives.
- Ensure a safe environment for associates, pets, and customers.
- Act promptly if a sick or injured pet is identified in the store.
- Assist in various store areas as needed, demonstrating flexibility.
