We are on the lookout for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist who can adeptly manage all facets of payroll operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of juggling multiple responsibilities while ensuring exceptional accuracy in their output and efficiency in production. The specialist will also assess pay rate adjustments based on overtime, leave, and other variables. This role will provide essential support to the payroll manager, ensuring the integrity of data entry.
Your primary objective will be to keep all stakeholders updated and to administer various payroll processes effectively. You will be responsible for delivering projects that align with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain comprehensive employee payroll records
- Input, review, and audit timekeeping and payroll-related documents
- Maintain accurate time and attendance logs
- Input new hires into the payroll system
- Implement changes in pay, tax status, and other classifications
- Calculate wages, overtime, and other payroll components
- Record payroll deductions (both voluntary and involuntary)
- Process advance, termination, and other off-cycle payments
- Reconcile earnings and deduction totals accurately
- Calculate and prepare general journal entries
- Review output registers and rectify discrepancies
- Prepare and file necessary tax documentation
- Compile payroll data for management and audits
- Act as a backup for other payroll specialists
- Document payroll procedures clearly
- Ensure timely responses to employee inquiries
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams, hiring managers, and external entities as necessary
- Resolve payroll issues promptly
- Show initiative with strong decision-making and organizational capabilities
- Implement best practices and drive efficiency improvements
- Engage in special projects and additional tasks as assigned
