Join GoGlobal as a dedicated and meticulous Payroll Specialist, where your expertise will be pivotal in managing comprehensive payroll operations for our Canadian employees. In this remote role, you will oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and delivering timely salary payments. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential in enhancing and automating payroll practices.
Your responsibilities will encompass managing semi-monthly payroll cycles, generating and validating payslips, performing payroll reconciliations, and ensuring accurate provincial tax filings. You will also provide essential support to internal teams by addressing payroll-related inquiries and challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take complete ownership of end-to-end payroll processing for Canadian employees, including input validation, calculations, and execution.
- Manage complex in-house payroll operations while ensuring adherence to legal requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely generation and distribution of payslips to employees.
- Calculate net pay based on time records, benefits, taxes, and other relevant factors.
- Address inquiries regarding salaries, deductions, attendance, and other payroll matters.
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll regulations (e.g., CPP, EI, income tax, WSIB/CNESST).
- Calculate Gross-Ups and provide simulations for internal stakeholders as needed.
- Generate payroll reports for record-keeping and managerial review.
- Validate payroll outputs, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolutions.
- Adhere to payroll policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in timesheets and payroll tasks.
- Act as a payroll subject matter expert, providing timely advice to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate timely remittances and filings with government authorities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records in compliance with audit and data protection standards.
- Participate in year-end tax processes, including T4 and RL-1 slips, and reconciliation reports.
- Support audits and internal payroll reviews as required.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.
