About the job
At Apex Technology Inc., we address one of the most pressing challenges in the aerospace sector: the need for innovative spacecraft. With the surge in launch vehicles and the decreasing costs of reaching orbit, a growing number of companies are emerging to send payloads into space.
This unprecedented rise in payload companies, coupled with lower launch expenses, has created an overwhelming demand for commercial spacecraft platforms, commonly referred to as satellite buses. These satellite buses are essential for housing our customers' payloads and are launched into space using various launch vehicles.
Apex specializes in the mass production of these satellite buses, utilizing a unique blend of software solutions, vertical integration, and manufacturing-specific hardware. Our spacecraft play a crucial role in shaping the future of society, facilitating everything from earth observation to advanced communications.
We invite you to join our mission to grant humanity access to the vast cosmos beyond our planet.
About the Position
We are on the lookout for a meticulous PCB Designer who will also take on the role of Altium Librarian. This position is pivotal in maintaining high-quality PCB layouts and ensuring the integrity of our electronic component library. Your expertise will be essential for achieving design consistency, manufacturability, and configuration control across all avionics hardware initiatives. The ideal candidate will exhibit a combination of excellent layout abilities and a disciplined approach to library management, part creation, and data governance within a structured engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct schematic capture and PCB layout for intricate, high-reliability electronics (including multilayer, high-speed, mixed-signal, and power designs).
Implement constraint-driven layouts that encompass impedance control, differential routing (e.g., Ethernet), and power integrity considerations.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and thermal engineers to ensure cohesive design integration.
Produce and assess fabrication and assembly drawings, stackups, and design notes.
Assist in DFM/DFA reviews alongside fabrication and assembly vendors.
Refine designs based on feedback from prototypes, testing results, and manufacturing insights.
Oversee and maintain the Altium component library as the authoritative source for all PCB designs.
Create and manage symbols, footprints, and 3D models while strictly adhering to internal standards.
Ensure all components are associated with approved part numbers in PLM (e.g., Teamcenter).
Establish and enforce library standards (including naming conventions, parameter sets, and lifecycle status).
