THE ROLE
As a Per Diem Emergency Veterinarian, you will play a vital role in addressing the urgent needs of pets and their owners. Your passion for veterinary medicine will shine as you handle a diverse range of cases, from routine emergencies to complex surgical procedures. You will be supported by a team that values mentorship and continuous learning, providing you with ample opportunities for professional growth through VEG Education programs and unlimited continuing education focused on emergency care.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Providing immediate assistance and answering medical questions via phone.
- Conducting prompt patient assessments as part of our unique VEG Triage and VEG Spikes system, ensuring that pets receive timely medical attention while keeping families together.
- Gathering patient information, including signalment, presenting complaints, vital signs, and performing thorough physical examinations.
- Utilizing diagnostic tools such as ultrasounds, X-rays, blood tests, and biopsies to formulate accurate diagnoses.
- Administering treatment plans and engaging in complex surgical interventions as necessary.
