PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and process departmental order requests efficiently.
- Prepare medications for timely distribution to patient care units.
- Deliver medications to various patient care units, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Order medications from diverse suppliers to maintain inventory levels.
- Prepare parenteral products as required.
- Maintain medication inventory, check expiration dates, and process returns as necessary.
- Train and orient new pharmacy support personnel to uphold standards.
- Handle billing and other pharmacy-related duties that do not require a pharmacist's oversight.
- Maintain accurate records and regulatory documentation.
- Pre-package and label bulk medications into unit doses.
- Provide exceptional service by directing phone calls and forwarding clinical inquiries to pharmacists.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization within the department.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Duties: Obtain patient medication orders for reconciliation and input into the MAR. Prepare chemotherapy and dosage calculations as necessary.
