Job Overview: The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver therapeutic interventions in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting that adheres to professional standards and ethical practices.
Licenses and Certifications: Must possess a valid and active state PTA license or certification. CPR certification is preferred.
Qualifications: Education: Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited institution. Experience: 0-1 year of practical experience in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute treatment plans as developed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, electrical stimulation).
Monitor patient responses to therapy, document progress, and communicate findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Provide education to patients and families on exercise techniques and safety precautions to promote ongoing improvement.
Assist Physical Therapists in assessing patient needs and progress through additional observations.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
