The Plant Maintenance Supervisor plays a vital role in assisting the Plant Engineer to effectively lead and manage both salaried and hourly staff involved in every aspect of plant engineering operations. This includes the installation, repair, and maintenance of all plant systems, equipment, grounds, and facilities. The ideal candidate will focus on delivering exceptional technical service in a safe manner, while collaborating with fellow leaders to enhance the production of glass containers, striving for continuous improvements in quality and efficiency.
Key Qualifications for the Plant Maintenance Supervisor:
- Solid background in maintenance and/or furnace operations
- Proficiency with maintenance management software
- Prior experience in a maintenance leadership role
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with all organizational levels
Responsibilities of the Plant Maintenance Supervisor will include:
- Directing and overseeing preventive maintenance programs
- Coordinating and supervising all construction and service activities conducted by external contractors
- Conducting routine inspections of plant systems, equipment, facilities, and grounds, overseeing all modifications or upgrades
- Reviewing shift operations, making informed decisions, and implementing actions that affect processing, procedures, personnel, equipment, and customer requirements
- Monitoring downtime and devising solutions to minimize it
