ABOUT THE ROLE
As a key member of our dynamic and multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate under the guidance of a licensed engineer and designated project leaders. Your projects will encompass new constructions and renovations across various sectors, including education, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Independently design ductwork, piping, and select equipment for plumbing and fire protection systems on assigned projects, with complex assignments supervised by a professional engineer. Assist with HVAC designs as necessary.
- Oversee project management tasks within the mechanical discipline, monitoring project progress and budget compliance.
- Create Revit/BIM models of plumbing and fire protection construction drawings from schematic design to construction administration phases, including layouts, sketches, and detailed drawings, while also performing Revit/BIM modeling for HVAC systems as required.
- Edit specifications for current and new projects.
- Conduct independent research and address emerging challenges as they arise.
- Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
- Review shop drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and contract documents.
- Foster effective communication with clients and project team members, actively participating in Owner, Architect, and Construction Administration (OAC) meetings with a keen focus on project budgeting.
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and manage change orders during the preparation of construction documents.
- Perform job site visits to verify existing conditions and monitor construction progress, which may require physical walkthroughs. Attend and engage in construction meetings.
- Coordinate work activities on specific projects with various team members and participate in business development and marketing efforts.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
