ABOUT THE ROLE
Join our dynamic interdisciplinary team, where you will operate under the guidance of designated project leaders. Projects may involve new constructions and renovations across various sectors including education, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
Design plumbing and fire protection systems, including piping and equipment selection for building projects; work independently on smaller projects while collaborating with senior engineers on more complex undertakings.
Conduct calculations with appropriate parameters under supervisory review.
Create production drawings of plumbing and fire protection systems from schematic to construction phases.
Revise specifications for both existing and new projects.
Specify and select plumbing and fire protection equipment such as sprinklers, sewerage systems, and medical gas systems.
Review shop drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and contractual documents.
Engage effectively with clients and project team members by attending Owner, Architect, Construction Administration (OAC) meetings, in alignment with project budget considerations.
Research independently when necessary and address emergent issues as they arise.
Participate in or lead value engineering sessions alongside the Architectural/Engineering team.
Facilitate staff development activities, including mentoring and training presentations.
Oversee the activities of junior staff members as needed.
Conduct site visits during the construction phase, which may require physical walkthroughs of the site independently.
Willingness to work overtime and travel as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
