Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:Operate boilers and associated auxiliary equipment, including engines.Monitor gauges, meters, and charts to track boiler operations.Manage boiler water, chemical, and fuel levels.Adjust valves to regulate water, air, and fuel in boilers.Ignite coal furnaces or feed boilers using gas feeds or oil pumps.Inspect and maintain equipment for optimal efficiency.Conduct routine checks on safety devices and perform environmental assessments.Document operational data and maintain logs of maintenance and safety activities.Physical Demands and Hazards:Perform physical tasks, including lifting weights from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.Engage in a variety of movements: reaching, handling, turning, twisting, climbing, and balancing.Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.Operate near moving parts and sharp tools, with potential slipping hazards.Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.Utilize personal protective equipment to ensure safety while performing job duties.
