ABOUT THE ROLE: Principal Cloud Test Engineer – Network & Security
In the role of Principal Cloud Test Engineer, you will transcend individual feature testing, spearheading quality initiatives that span multiple teams. Your responsibilities will include shaping testing frameworks, influencing design decisions at early project stages, collaborating with customer support teams to refine test strategies, and establishing benchmarks for testing excellence within a multi-cloud ecosystem. Your contributions will have a significant effect on release velocity, customer confidence, and system robustness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and lead a comprehensive test strategy and quality architecture for cloud networking and security platforms, encompassing functional, performance, scalability, resilience, and security testing, all aligned with shift-left methodologies, the test pyramid, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Serve as the technical expert for complex networking, security, and scalability challenges, guiding product and system design through early collaboration with architects and senior engineers.
- Design, automate, and manage end-to-end performance, stress, and scale testing frameworks for distributed cloud systems, focusing on achieving stable, high-coverage automation and reducing flakiness.
- Develop, validate, and automate extensive performance, stress, and resilience tests across networking protocols, control planes, and data planes.
- Provide expert technical guidance in testing cloud networking and security technologies such as BGP, TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, routing, overlays, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SSL/TLS, IPsec, PKI, and proxy architectures.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex, multi-layered issues effectively.
