As the Principal Developer leading our AI and Developer teams, you will report directly to the VP of Engineering and play a crucial role in defining 1Password’s technical integration strategies within the broader security landscape. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and shaping integration pathways with key partners, designing reference architectures, and prototyping advanced solutions that enhance 1Password's capabilities in areas like agentic AI architectures, new communication protocols (e.g., MCP, A2A, ACP), and security controls for browsers and runtimes.
This highly technical position lies at the crossroads of developer-focused and agentic solutions, architectural decision-making, and R&D innovations. You will collaborate closely with teams across Engineering, Security, Product, Business Development, and Go-To-Market strategies to identify impactful integration opportunities, assess technical viability, and create partner-ready proof-of-concept demonstrations that showcase unique value. Ultimately, this role is pivotal in ensuring 1Password remains at the forefront of the evolving identity and security ecosystem, actively shaping both present and future landscapes.
This is a remote position available in Canada and the United States.
