Role Overview:
As a Principal Product Engineer, you will be pivotal in bridging engineering, product discovery, and delivery. Your primary focus will be CKEditor, refining both the editor and frontend experience while also enhancing backend services and AI integrations where applicable. You will significantly contribute to other CKSource products, prioritizing frontend components and shared development frameworks.
Your mission is to pinpoint high-impact opportunities, swiftly prototype solutions, and develop successful experiments into production-ready features.
Collaborating closely with engineering leaders, product managers, and domain experts, you will help shape the product's trajectory. You will work alongside teams across the editor/frontend, cloud services, and integrations to deliver comprehensive features.
This position requires a builder's mindset and an ability to navigate ambiguity. It is a high-autonomy role for an individual contributor, where you will influence product direction across CKEditor and CKSource, and assist teams in integrating AI-assisted development into their workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Tackle high-impact challenges within CKEditor and CKSource products, identifying opportunities for AI or automation enhancement.
Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to define goals, scope, and success metrics.
Design practical end-to-end solutions encompassing the editor, backend services, and other portfolio products.
Rapidly prototype, gather feedback, and transform the most promising ideas into production features.
Develop integrations and platform patterns (APIs, workflows, ecosystems) that enhance product capabilities.
Guide technical direction and best practices across teams, facilitating effective adoption of new tools.
Promote the adoption of AI-assisted development (agents, reviews, testing, operations) to optimize our software development and delivery process.
