The Opportunity
We are seeking a Principal Software Architect to steer and define the technical strategy for the OpenAEV platform. You will be instrumental in shaping architecture, establishing standards, and aligning teams—collaborating closely with the CTO, Staff Engineers, Engineering Managers, and product leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and uphold the long-term technical vision of OpenAEV in partnership with the CTO.
Establish architecture standards and ensure technical consistency across all teams.
Facilitate critical technical decisions, emphasizing scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
Prototype, explore, and validate the next iterations to foster innovation and support growth.
Mentor and guide Staff Engineers, ensuring coherence and alignment across engineering initiatives.
Balance project delivery with technical excellence, challenging roadmaps to maintain the right pace between features, technical debt, and innovation.
Advocate for the engineering vision across diverse teams and functions (Product, Ops, Business).
Collaboration
Reports directly to the VP of Technology.
Collaborates closely with: Staff Engineers, Engineering Managers, Product Managers/Design, Ops, and executive leadership.
Provides mentorship and technical direction to Staff/Senior/Associate Engineers.
Desired Profile
A minimum of 10 years of experience in building and scaling complex, distributed systems.
Demonstrated impact in defining technical strategy and architecture for platforms or large systems.
Exceptional system design skills including scalability, performance, and security.
