Position Objective:
The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for coordinating nursing services and interdepartmental activities. This role provides crucial clinical expertise and oversees management activities during shifts, collaborating with the Unit Manager or Director as necessary. In their supervisor's absence, the coordinator directs problem-solving efforts in nursing and across departments. This position includes both direct and indirect patient care responsibilities, with the necessity to rotate shifts within a 24-hour period.
Essential Job Duties:
- Guide hospital operations on assigned shifts by fostering effective interdepartmental relationships.
- Ensure staffing levels align with patient census and acuity.
- Record assignments, call-outs, and cancellations for the Flex Nursing Unit within the electronic scheduling system.
- Implement the nursing process effectively, in accordance with the Staff Nurse job description, to deliver patient care.
- Exhibit competence in providing age-specific care related to the initiative's patient populations.
- Participate in compliance and uphold AAMC policies and procedures.
- Serve as a role model to embody and promote AAMC's vision and mission through professionalism, empowerment, teamwork, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Direct the delivery of patient care across nursing units by applying supervisory and leadership capabilities.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and staff in clinical and administrative circumstances when necessary.
- Attend essential departmental meetings and relevant hospital in-services, continually enhancing leadership skills through education.
