Join the Mariana Minerals team as a highly skilled Process Controls Engineer, where you will play an integral role in establishing a sustainable critical minerals supply chain. In this position, you will spearhead the innovation and implementation of revolutionary chemical refining processes while contributing to the development of software solutions for capital project execution and automated plant optimization.
As a pivotal member of our engineering team, you will oversee the design and deployment of equipment and plant-wide controls infrastructure. Your responsibilities will encompass everything from conceptual design and installation to commissioning, ramp-up, and final handover to the operations team. You will also assist in cultivating a talented in-house engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and uphold standards for controls programming.
Lead all phases of equipment projects from concept and modeling validation to procurement, engineering, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and ramp-up.
Manage relationships with external equipment suppliers, technology licensors, and engineering firms to ensure successful execution of mineral refining projects.
Coordinate cross-functional teams comprising lab technicians, pilot plant engineers, process engineers, and project engineers to facilitate technical scale-up and mitigate risks associated with the commercialization of innovative mineral refining processes.
Support the recruitment, mentorship, and daily supervision of junior process engineers.
Create technoeconomic models for new project opportunities and technological acquisitions to guide business development.
Prepare and present engineering deliverables to assist project financing partners in their due diligence assessments.
Identify and implement effective process engineering and project management software tools.
Promote and support initiatives for software and machine learning teams to automate capital project workflows and develop sophisticated plant control algorithms.
