About the Role:
The Product Data Capture Manager will spearhead a dynamic team of over 15 Data Capture Leads and Associates across various shifts, ensuring precise measurement and documentation of product attributes that are often invisible in standard photographs, including dimensions, weights, materials, compliance marks, packaging text, and performance specifications.
This hands-on leadership position combines people management with technical problem-solving to determine the essential data needed for each product processed in our facility. You will mentor shift leads, enhance measurement processes, address equipment challenges, and collaborate with Product and R&D teams to refine data capture and structuring methods at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of 15+ Data Capture Leads and Associates across multiple shifts, focusing on coaching, training, and performance evaluation.
- Oversee daily operations, swiftly resolving measurement discrepancies, addressing equipment malfunctions, and ensuring seamless product flow through data capture stations.
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for dimensional measurement, packaging/label reading (OCR), material identification, compliance marks, and product specifications.
- Collaborate with Product and R&D teams to deploy and enhance computer vision, OCR tools, and sensor equipment for more precise and efficient data capture.
- Work with leadership to identify the most critical product attributes by category (electronics, toys, home goods, etc.) to support informed customer purchase decisions.
- Monitor data quality and implement process enhancements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency in all captures.
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment, including dimensional scanners, scales, calipers, barcode readers, and other measurement tools.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex issues related to data capture processes.
