As a Product Handling and Reception Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the preparation, packaging, and shipping of customer orders. Your responsibilities will include counting, verifying, receiving, and organizing products from suppliers as well as returns from customers. Attention to detail will be key in ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while performing your duties.
- Load and unload trucks, and operate forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment.
- Reception Tasks:
- Upon unloading shipments from suppliers or customer returns, obtain the packing slip and compare it with the received products, noting any discrepancies or damaged items.
- Print and verify electronic receiving documents, entering received products into the computer system.
- Identify special order items and damaged products, storing them properly.
- Document any discrepancies on the carrier’s bill of lading, initiate claims for damaged goods, and forward documents to the responsible teammate.
- Preparation, Packaging, and Shipping Tasks:
- Prepare products for customer orders by counting and matching them to shipping documents.
- Gather and package products appropriately for customer pickup or shipping.
- Complete documentation for all shipments delivered by third-party carriers or requiring hazardous materials transport documents.
- Notify your supervisor of any discrepancies in stock, damaged, or defective products that may affect customer service quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the warehouse by disposing of empty boxes, metal strapping, pallets, and other waste or debris.
- Inform the warehouse manager or profit center director of any safety issues in the warehouse.
- Assist teammates in serving customers at the counter.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the profit center director.
