Product Strategy & Ownership
- Lead the comprehensive product strategy for our bill payment and transfer solutions, encompassing:
- Purchases of airtime and mobile data
- Utility payments (electricity, cable, internet, etc.)
- Bank transfers between accounts
- Articulate Renmoney's long-term vision for digital banking into a strategic roadmap for payment solutions.
- Establish how payment solutions facilitate:
- Daily interactions with customers
- Increase in deposits and account utilization
- Opportunities for cross-selling savings and lending products
- Identify and define unique value propositions for various customer segments, including individual consumers and small businesses.
Payments Performance & Commercial Outcomes
- Manage essential performance metrics for payment solutions, including:
- Transaction volumes and amounts
- Success vs. failure rates
- Revenue generated from fees and commissions
- Cost associated with each transaction
- Collaborate closely with the Finance department to:
- Enhance transaction pricing and incentives
- Oversee partnership costs and profit margins
- Monitor the effects of payments on account balances
- Discover ways to enhance unit economics while maintaining a positive customer experience.
Execution & Delivery
- Direct cross-departmental execution with:
- Engineering teams developing mobile, web, and backend systems
- Design teams focusing on user experience
- Operations and Customer Support teams managing exceptions and disputes
- Draft comprehensive Product Requirement Documents detailing the project scope, significance, and success metrics.
- Prioritize initiatives based on their impact on customers, reliability, compliance, effort, and overall business value.
- Guarantee that payment and transfer processes are swift, user-friendly, and robust, even during peak demand periods.
Reliability, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure payment products comply with all relevant regulatory and operational standards, including:
- Guidelines set forth by the Central Bank of Nigeria
- Requirements from the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System
- Data protection regulations outlined in the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation
- Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to manage:
- Fraud risk mitigation
- Resolution of transaction disputes and reversals
- Customer protection and error resolution
- Represent payment initiatives in the Product Governance Council, which oversees and approves product modifications.
