About the job
About Fundraise Up
Fundraise Up is a pioneering global fundraising platform designed to empower nonprofits to maximize their fundraising potential by providing fast, seamless, and impactful donation experiences. Our cutting-edge technology facilitates millions of dollars in donations monthly for organizations across North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia, including some of the most influential nonprofits worldwide. We are celebrated for our product quality, performance, and a profound respect for both donors and nonprofit operators.
As we expand our core platform, we are strategically investing in high-risk, high-reward product innovations that could shape the future of digital fundraising. This is where our Lab comes in.
About the Role
At Fundraise Up, we recognize that merely scaling our core offerings is insufficient. We require a structured approach to explore future opportunities—new capabilities, new categories, and innovative ways technology can transform fundraising. The Lab is dedicated to this mission.
As a Product Manager in our Lab, you will investigate, validate, and mitigate risks associated with daring, high-uncertainty product opportunities—many of which may not seem like an obvious extension of our current offerings.
Your focus will be on reducing uncertainty rather than just launching features.
You will take ownership of ideas from inception through to decision-making—whether to scale, pivot, or discontinue. Many ideas should be evaluated and potentially dismissed early, while a select few may evolve into core offerings with robust supporting evidence.
Success in this role will be evaluated based on the speed of learning and the quality of decisions, rather than output volume or user adoption metrics.
Key Responsibilities
Explore High-Risk, Technology-Driven Opportunities
- Identify opportunities arising from emerging technologies such as AI, data, platform capabilities, or shifts in infrastructure.
- Translate ambiguous signals and technical possibilities into clear product hypotheses.
- Investigate ideas prior to establishing a clear buyer, category, or demand signal.
- Maintain a backlog of exploration that includes risks, assumptions, and learning objectives.
Design Experiments & Define Kill Criteria
- Frame experiments around the primary riskiest assumption.
- Establish explicit kill criteria prior to any development.
- Select the appropriate level of fidelity: prototype, and more.
