The Production Supervisor at Aevex Aerospace plays a crucial role in leading a dedicated team of technicians tasked with the assembly, integration, and testing of cutting-edge aerospace systems and components. This position is pivotal in managing daily production activities to achieve key objectives relating to safety, quality, scheduling, and cost efficiency. The Supervisor provides hands-on leadership, ensuring adherence to AS9100/ITAR regulations, removing operational barriers, and fostering cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Planning teams.
Essential Functions
- Daily Operations & Team Leadership
- Guide, mentor, and develop a skilled team of production technicians and Lead Technicians.
- Participate actively in the management team to implement strategic business decisions.
- Delegate tasks, oversee staffing levels, and coordinate daily priorities to align with production schedules.
- Conduct daily tier meetings to communicate essential metrics, risks, and requirements.
- Maintain an environment of high performance focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate seamless shift transitions and ensure clear communication across workgroups.
- Safety & Compliance
- Uphold all safety protocols, conduct safety inspections, and promptly rectify any unsafe conditions.
- Guarantee compliance with ITAR, ESD, FOD, and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Ensure a clean and compliant workspace in alignment with 5S and lean manufacturing standards.
- Quality & Process Control
- Ensure strict adherence to work instructions, drawings, torque specifications, and configuration controls.
- Provide support for First Article builds, inspections, and readiness for audits by customers and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with the Quality team to resolve in-process issues, support MRB/NCR processes, and implement corrective actions.
- Verify that all documentation (DHR, travelers, checklists) is accurately completed and submitted on time.
- Monitor and communicate any engineering or process changes.
- Schedule, Material Flow & Coordination
- Ensure that production tasks are completed within established cycle times and according to schedule.
- Work closely with Planning, Supply Chain, and Materials teams to confirm that parts, kits, and tooling are accessible as needed.
- Proactively escalate issues regarding shortages, engineering challenges, and bottlenecks.
- Support capacity planning and labor forecasting efforts.
