Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the technical lead and primary design contact for Development and Construction teams, aiding in the intermediate to advanced stages of utility-scale PV, PV+Storage, and standalone energy storage projects.Oversee all necessary resources to finalize site due diligence required for defining scope, project costs, schedules, energy outputs, and risks alongside an independent EPC contractor or developer.Ensure engineering deliverables are reviewed to meet contractual, cost, and performance standards for our clients and financing partners.Develop and assess energy input evaluations and power output predictions. Conduct analyses to enhance site layouts, engineering designs, and equipment selections to maximize performance and reduce lifecycle costs.Supervise the activities of designers, consultants, and contractors, managing meetings and conference calls to ensure efficient use of resources, adherence to deadlines, and resolution of conflicts.Draft, edit, and review technical scope documents, specifications, procedures, site reports, progress reports, feasibility studies, and proposals.
About the job
The Project Engineer will report directly to the Manager of Project Engineering and will play a pivotal role in overseeing the review, coordination, and approval of detailed design packages for Clearway Energy Group's pipeline of solar and energy storage projects across the United States. This position is part of the Engineering & Strategic Procurement department, where the Project Engineer will collaborate with internal and external teams, providing optimized designs and assisting in the negotiation and execution of essential contract exhibits. Furthermore, the Project Engineer will support construction and commissioning efforts by reviewing and approving commissioning test reports. Close collaboration with various teams such as Origination, Development, Development Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Project Finance, and Operations & Maintenance, as well as EPC contractors and independent engineers, will be essential.
This hybrid position is based in one of our office locations, which include San Francisco, San Diego, Scottsdale, Houston, or Denver.
