Position Overview
The Quality Supervisor is instrumental in guaranteeing the reliability and performance of the hardware that supports our satellite constellation. This pivotal role involves leading day-to-day quality assurance operations across production and integration activities, ensuring that all materials, assemblies, and finished systems adhere to stringent quality standards necessary for spaceflight.
As the Quality Supervisor, you will manage a team of inspectors and quality technicians, overseeing incoming, in-process, and final inspections. You will collaborate closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to ensure that hardware is manufactured accurately, efficiently, and meets the highest reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily quality operations, including incoming inspections, in-process evaluations, and final checks of hardware and assemblies.
- Verify that materials, components, and finished products comply with engineering specifications and quality requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of quality inspectors and technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and performance assessments.
- Monitor quality performance metrics to ensure that production hardware meets quality and delivery expectations.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and operations teams to identify and resolve quality issues affecting production or hardware reliability.
- Assist in root cause investigations and corrective action processes related to nonconforming hardware or process challenges.
- Ensure adherence to company quality standards, procedures, and relevant regulatory or industry requirements.
- Conduct thorough process audits, ensuring that procedures are consistently followed throughout manufacturing and integration operations.
- Support employee training efforts to maintain proper workmanship standards and inspection processes.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the quality organization.
