Mission Overview
The Railway Operations Manager will oversee the overall performance, safety, and reliability of transporting bauxite from the Inland Rail Facility (IRF) to the Port of Douala. Your mission will be to design and implement an industrial-grade operating system that initially supports 6 Mtpa, with scalable capacity up to 10 Mtpa. You will carry a transformational mandate aimed at establishing a sustainable railway legacy for the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Supervise end-to-end transport and coordinate planning with the national railway operator.
- Governance and Interface: Serve as the primary contact for the national operator regarding service quality, punctuality, and mineral traffic prioritization.
- Port Logistics: Optimize train unloading and stock management to minimize downtime.
- Rolling Stock: Ensure locomotive and wagon reliability by validating maintenance programs and managing CAPEX investments.
- Safety and Risk Management: Foster a non-negotiable safety culture, conduct incident investigations, and manage operational crises.
- Team Management: Build and develop the internal railway team while ensuring local skills transfer.
