About the Role
We are in search of a seasoned field operations expert and outstanding project manager to spearhead the Field Operations strategy and execution in Central Uganda. Your primary responsibilities will include leading the adoption of tree planting initiatives, implementing market access activities for cash crops (primarily coffee, macadamia, and trees), managing input sales, and overseeing extension teams to ensure optimal farmer impact and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Vision / Strategy
- Lead the field implementation of Uganda's Vision and Strategy to enhance farmer impact in the region.
- Identify and put in place the resources, processes, and systems necessary to realize the vision and strategy in the designated region.
- Collaborate with the Head of Field Programs and coordinate with department leads (Product Innovations, Commercialization, Support Teams) and regions to align objectives and plans that achieve desired program outcomes.
Team Management
- Act as the line manager for the field operation team members in the region.
- Initiate and lead process enhancements within the region.
- Represent Field Operations in relevant stakeholder forums as required.
- Oversee the workload of the Regional team, establish priorities, and drive the execution of all region-related projects and program elements.
Field Execution
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, impactful extension services through various channels in the region.
- Collaborate closely with the Commercial team to meet market access/input sales targets through effective field team execution, and provide operational expertise.
