At PPHP, we prioritize care above all else. Join our dedicated team as a Registered Nurse in Centralized Follow Up, where you will play a vital role in patient care.
Position Overview: In this pivotal role, you will manage lab results in accordance with PPHP Medical Standards and Guidelines (MSG) and Patient Services. Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely patient notifications and follow-ups as outlined in clinician-approved care plans.
As part of your duties, you will:
Receive, manage, and route patient calls to the appropriate departments for further assistance.
Conduct professional and thorough telephonic nursing assessments, providing evaluation, education, and advice to patients under established protocols.
Accurately document all patient communications and maintain updated electronic logs.
Notify pharmacies regarding new prescriptions and refill authorizations as directed by providers.
Coordinate with PPHP-contracted laboratories as required.
Complete audits as instructed by the Director of Quality & Clinical Integration within designated timelines.
Deliver high-quality telephone customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with clinic staff and direct calls appropriately.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of PPHP’s organization to address inquiries and facilitate accurate call routing.
Engage in quality assurance monitoring activities specified for the department.
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse license in New York State in good standing.
Valid CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications.
Preferred: 1 year of experience in Women's Healthcare, abortion services, or recovery room.
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
Willingness to orient in surgical and family planning environments to understand clinic operations and workflows.
Availability to cover surgical shifts in Smithtown, New Rochelle, and White Plains as needed.
Proficient in using computer systems for charting, documentation, communication, and research.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
