Overall Purpose of Position
The role of the Support Worker is essential in facilitating the development of practical and vocational skills within our adult services training and employment programs. These programs aim to enhance independence, innovation, and a sense of achievement among service users. You will work closely with the Instructor and/or Social Care Leader to plan, implement, and review programs that align with our organizational ethos while providing personal care and support to service users.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Instructors/Social Care Leaders to deliver effective programs.
- Recognize and respect the individuality of each service user, including their interests and communication styles.
- Uphold the dignity and respect of all service users consistently.
- Foster a supportive and welcoming environment in the training and employment center/group home.
- Encourage independence among service users based on their abilities.
- Maintain the highest standards of care and build strong relationships with service users.
- Integrate service user interests into daily activities as much as possible.
- Assist with personal care tasks including clothing, feeding, toileting, and hygiene.
