Equivity is on the lookout for a talented Virtual Paralegal with recent experience in law firms and expertise in at least two legal practice areas, including but not limited to litigation, estate planning, immigration, bankruptcy, corporate law, or family law. This role allows you to engage in meaningful legal work remotely while collaborating with attorneys across the nation as part of our expanding and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver thorough paralegal assistance tailored to the specific requirements of attorneys across a range of legal fields.
Work autonomously while handling tasks such as drafting legal documents, organizing case files, and tracking deadlines.
Maintain effective and professional communication with clients during business hours (9 AM – 6 PM).
Collaborate with legal teams, court officials, and external parties to facilitate smooth case management.
Quickly adjust to new legal processes and client needs, supporting cases from intake to resolution.
Enjoy the flexibility of remote work while managing a consistent workload of 20 to 40 hours weekly.
About You:
A minimum of 3 years of recent paralegal experience in a law firm, showcasing proficiency in at least two practice areas such as civil litigation, estate planning, probate, bankruptcy, family law, or corporate law.
Ability to navigate various legal workflows and adapt to the specific needs of different practice areas.
Tech-savvy, with strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with case management software like Clio, MyCase, or similar platforms.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication and time management capabilities.
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a virtual environment.
Possess a Windows-based computer, smartphone, and reliable high-speed internet connection.
Have a quiet, professional home office setup for effective client communication.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree.
At least 3 years of recent paralegal experience.
Available to respond to client inquiries within one hour, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM.
Ability to commit to 20–40 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
