SUMMARY
The Resource Parent Support Specialist (RPS) plays a vital role in our organization, working under the supervision of the RPS Team Leader. This position is dedicated to collaborating with the Foster Care Team to effectively identify, license, and retain foster families within the Knoxville region.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend supervision sessions at least twice a month.
Participate in weekly regional RPS team meetings.
Obtain certification to train all foster parent pre-service and post-approval courses.
Facilitate Pre-Service and ongoing training activities for foster parents.
Ensure compliance of foster homes and maintain necessary paperwork, including licensure requirements, home studies, background checks, monthly check-ins, quarterly compliance checks, and re-assessments.
Conduct audits and manage foster parent charts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Engage in recruitment and marketing initiatives to attract potential foster families.
Recruit and license new foster homes to meet quarterly objectives.
Stay updated on DCS/contract provider requirements and complete annual training.
Participate in monthly RPS calls and attend weekly Treatment team meetings.
Join 2-3 RPS retreats annually across the state.
Support client placement efforts and provide respite care as needed.
