Key Responsibilities:
Your Role: As a Seasonal Habitat Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in our Ecology and Climate team. Your primary focus will be on maintaining priority natural habitats, particularly through invasive plant control. Additional tasks may involve the installation of restoration plantings, conducting vegetation assessments, and mapping activities.
Specific Duties Include:
- Implementing invasive plant species control methods, primarily through herbicides and mechanical means (cutting, pulling, etc.).
- Collaborating with the Habitat Steward to achieve statewide management goals.
- Traveling daily throughout the eastern half of Massachusetts.
- Maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate the demands of seasonal fieldwork, including unpredictable weather and occasional overnight stays near field sites.
