ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Security Engineer at Benchling, you will be an integral member of our team, tasked with fortifying our security program and protecting vital data that impacts society. Your responsibilities will encompass the development and maintenance of internal security tools alongside overseeing critical security infrastructure, ensuring the overall safety of our enterprise environment for both employees and customers. We seek adept professionals who are eager to spearhead intricate projects, mentor colleagues, and influence architectural choices that will cultivate resilient security solutions as Benchling continues to expand.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the design and development of security tools and infrastructure, managing complex projects from conception to implementation.
Collaborate with Product Security Engineers and Software Engineers to identify, design, and integrate security features and controls within our AWS cloud environment.
Serve as the primary technical liaison for security engineering initiatives, fostering collaboration with Product Security Engineers and Software Engineers.
Coordinate alignment across various engineering teams on internal and customer-oriented security and privacy projects, proactively addressing trade-offs and risks to ensure security data accessibility, integrity, and reliability.
Contribute to security detection and response efforts through automation, detection, and investigation.
Research and assess new security tools (both internal and third-party), evaluating their potential impact and alignment with Benchling's security requirements.
Investigate new detection methods for attack vectors and techniques pertinent to our industry and present findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
