Position Overview:
We are seeking an Autonomous and skilled Security Analyst with a passion for Cyber Security, Fraud Prevention, and Abuse Mitigation. As a Security Analyst at DigitalOcean, you will be part of a proactive team focused on identifying, investigating, and preventing fraudulent activities affecting our platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Security Events and fraudulent activities in real-time across DigitalOcean’s infrastructure.
- Investigate and mitigate abusive activities such as intrusion attempts, DDoS attacks, malware distribution, and phishing incidents.
- Utilize industry-standard security technologies like SIEM and EDR for alert detection and response.
- Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify and neutralize security risks.
- Analyze trends in abuse and security threats, communicating findings to leadership and advocating for necessary product enhancements.
- Manage tickets within a ticketing system, meeting daily operational targets with quality resolutions.
- Evaluate abuse claims, assist reporters, and support customers in regaining access to the platform.
- Develop strategies for gathering security data, transforming it into actionable insights, and collaborating with tech teams to address threats.
- Work to minimize false positives while effectively managing threats.
- Escalate security incidents to Senior Analysts or DFIR teams as needed for comprehensive analysis and remediation.
- Foster a deep understanding of DigitalOcean’s production environment, including applications and infrastructure, staying updated with key changes and future plans.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with technical teams across engineering and infrastructure.
