Reporting directly to the Credit Manager, the Senior Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for implementing established credit policies and collection procedures to minimize the percentage of overdue accounts receivable. The Senior Accounts Receivable Accountant builds strong relationships with clients and collaborates closely with Customer Service, Business Relations, and the sales team to respond rapidly to customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Execute month-end accounting tasks, including preparing journal entries in compliance with SOX requirements.
- Reconcile and review accounts in the general ledger.
- Prepare supporting documents for external and internal auditors and for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
- Facilitate financial liaison between customer service, sales, and group purchasing organization (GPO) teams to manage ad hoc projects and monthly performance analysis.
Credit and Collections:
- Prepare month-end journal entries and reconciliations for accounts receivable, sales allocations, chargebacks, and customer deductions.
- Prepare journal entries for bad debts, sales allocations, chargebacks, and customer deductions.
- Participate in the review of allowances for bad debts and customer discount accruals.
- Responsible for account reconciliations and interactions with wholesalers.
- Analyze financial statements of new customers to assess associated risks.
- Monitor and review credit approvals for new and existing customers and recommend updates.
