About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer I to join our Analytics Engineering (AE) team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing and constructing the datasets, pipelines, and semantic models that drive insights throughout our organization.
You will take ownership of critical areas within our data modeling ecosystem, collaborate closely with the Data Infrastructure (DI) team, Data Analysts, and Product/Program teams, and ensure that our data warehouse (BigQuery) and BI layer (Looker) remain reliable, high-performing, and trustworthy.
This position is perfect for someone who is highly experienced in dbt and Looker, enjoys tackling complex modeling challenges, and takes initiative in managing data flow and scalability across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and enhance dbt models that convert raw event and entity-level data into analytics-ready datasets.
- Oversee and develop data domains that facilitate reporting across Khan Academy.
- Create, document, and test semantic and reporting layers in Looker (LookML).
