Position Overview:
As a Senior Applied Data Scientist at Steadily, you will be pivotal in driving our Engineering team's efforts. You will analyze large datasets to identify trends and insights, leveraging refined data and internal machine learning models to enhance our product outcomes and operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will include building, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models into production, ensuring their quality and accuracy over time. We work with diverse data types, including public, proprietary, and extensive image datasets. This role offers a high level of autonomy and positions you as a trusted technical leader addressing critical business challenges. Since Steadily is in the early stages of exploring the potential of AI and ML, this position is particularly suited for scientists who thrive in ambiguous settings and are eager to determine the most impactful areas of focus.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Austin, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance data sets and models focusing on scalability, quality, and maintainability, employing the right techniques to address business needs. Areas of focus may include estimating property risks and accurately assessing property costs using aerial image analysis.
- Lead the exploration and implementation of new scientific applications within our product ecosystem to improve risk prediction on both the individual and aggregate levels.
- Produce clean, maintainable R/Python code, upholding high standards for quality and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Operations, and Business teams to design robust solutions across our systems.
- Deliver comprehensive metrics and visibility into model quality and performance, ensuring a rigorous scientific evaluation.
