As a Senior Backend Engineer, your primary focus will be on enhancing our core production code, which may involve working with distributed systems and optimizing machine learning pathways. You'll play a crucial role in refining our evolving systems, improving threat models, and advancing our CI/CD practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and sustain secure, scalable backend services and algorithms.
- Implement DevSecOps methodologies, including security protocols, monitoring, metrics, and automated alerts.
- Create clean, well-documented, production-ready code with comprehensive test coverage.
- Enhance engineering practices through code reviews, automation testing, and on-call support.
- Transform complex requirements into actionable sprint tasks while providing mentorship to team members.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar engineering role.
- Proficiency in backend development using Python and at least one of the following: Golang, Rust, or C++.
- Experience with Kubernetes, metrics-driven deployments, containerization, and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with monitoring and tracing solutions.
- Expertise in key-value stores and SQL databases, with a focus on performance optimization.
- Experience with high-traffic, low-latency distributed systems, including queue-first architecture and sharding.
- Strong architectural skills, encompassing requirement gathering, problem-solving, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Desire to learn and work with various technologies such as Python, Golang, Redis, PostgreSQL, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Clickhouse, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS, Azure, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of security frameworks, attack vectors, botnets, OLAP at scale, and online/active learning systems.
- Interest or experience in AI/ML and blockchain technologies.
