Team Mission
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be an essential analytical partner to the Ranking team—responsible for shaping what millions of travelers see when they search and explore GetYourGuide. Collaborating closely with engineers, data scientists, and product managers, you will navigate the entire experimentation lifecycle, from hypothesis formulation and metric selection to in-depth statistical analysis and executive-ready recommendations.
Your primary focus will be to develop and enhance the statistical methods that empower our team to confidently assess ranking changes. You will lead strategic analytical initiatives, including long-term marketplace value modeling, which will guide the product's future trajectory. More than just experimentation, you will bridge the gap between the technical complexities of ranking and the broader organization, translating the rationale behind ranking decisions into actionable insights for product, supply, and various teams across the company. Ultimately, you will ensure that the team addresses the right customer challenges, advocate for product development in the correct direction, construct measurement frameworks to validate this, and foster a collective understanding that enables the organization to utilize ranking effectively.
Your Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the critical analytical challenges for ranking—from experimentation methodology to marketplace modeling—and translate them into solutions that shape the team's roadmap.
- Gain deep insights into the methodological challenges associated with ranking evaluation, finding rigorous solutions and systematizing them into the team's workflows.
- Lead strategic analytics, including long-term value modeling and marketplace dynamics, to guide the future of ranking.
- Ensure ranking is understood and effectively utilized across the company, acting as a thought partner for product, supply, and leadership on how ranking can serve them best.
- Promote hypothesis-driven development and rigorous evaluation as standard practices for the team and organization.
