As a Senior Data Governance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in evolving our data governance framework. We are looking for a proactive leader who can transform complex governance principles into actionable taxonomies, measurable data standards, and enforceable quality metrics that can be implemented organization-wide.
Your leadership will facilitate a taxonomy and rules overhaul, establishing unified definitions, structured classification systems, and outcome-oriented data quality standards that enhance data trust, usability, and overall business impact. You will work collaboratively with data, product, engineering, operations, and analytics teams to seamlessly integrate governance within the data lifecycle—transforming it from a compliance requirement into a powerful enabler.
This position is essential for fostering a culture of data governance across the organization, providing teams with practical frameworks, guidance, and repeatable processes that enhance data quality and governance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee the governance of an enterprise-wide taxonomy and data rule framework, encompassing business terms, entities, products, and classification hierarchies that ensure consistent data utilization.
- Convert business requirements into precise, objective, and quantifiable data and quality rules suitable for implementation, testing, and monitoring.
- Create governance models that connect taxonomy, business rules, data quality standards, and measurable business outcomes.
- Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and product teams to integrate governance requirements into data pipelines, tools, and workflows.
- Establish authoring, validation, conflict detection, and lifecycle management standards for governance rules.
- Enhance clarity and consistency in definitions, metadata, and documentation across various domains.
- Support the development of data quality metrics, thresholds, and reporting aligned with specific business applications.
- Mentor and empower data owners, stewards, analysts, and teams to implement governance standards with confidence and consistency.
- Contribute to governance operating models, playbooks, and training resources tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Act as a consultant on governance best practices, tools, and methodologies.
