What You’ll DoBecome an essential member of a high-impact team concentrating on menu personalization.Engage in the design and implementation of next-generation recommender models, from experimentation and data collection to operationalization, aligning closely with non-technical stakeholders.Influence the future of customer experience at HelloFresh by proposing innovative personalization strategies and adapting statistical and ML models to align with evolving company objectives.Design and execute A/B tests to assess the effectiveness of new recommendation strategies on key performance metrics.Utilize cutting-edge technologies such as AWS (EMR, Glue, S3, etc.), Kafka, PySpark, Airflow, Databricks, MLFlow, Claude (AI), along with our proprietary MLOps tools.Collaborate closely with other departments (data engineering, backend engineering, ML engineering, product) to convert business objectives into actionable, data-driven personalization strategies.Analyze model performance to gain insights into customer behavior and identify areas for improvement.Contribute to a collaborative, knowledge-sharing team environment.

As a Senior Data Scientist on our dynamic team, you will dedicate your expertise to menu personalization. Your contributions will involve the design, implementation, and enhancement of personalized recommendation algorithms for culinary offerings across HelloFresh’s diverse global markets. You will significantly influence customer experience and business growth by ensuring that customers always encounter the most relevant and enticing menu selections. Collaborating closely with fellow personalization Data Scientists, as well as Data, Backend, and Machine Learning Engineers, you will bring statistical solutions and ML models to life.
Success in this role requires a curious mindset, the ability to navigate uncertainty, a swift learning capability, and a relentless focus on prioritizing problem statements while customizing solutions accordingly. You will also be expected to propose multiple solutions based on your experience and prioritize your workload based on effort and potential impact. As a senior team member, you'll have the autonomy to work independently while also providing support to your colleagues when needed.
