Role Overview
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our CI/CD practices and platform automation. You will leverage Azure DevOps Server to build standardized solutions, integrating essential security measures, artifact management, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and GitOps for seamless deployment to OpenShift/Kubernetes, while ensuring comprehensive monitoring readiness.
Key Responsibilities
· Configure project boards to monitor security vulnerabilities as actionable items, ensuring that compliance is integrated into the sprint backlog and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
· Oversee secure Git repository management, enforce branch policies such as mandatory pull request reviews, and actively monitor for potential secret leakage.
· Create reusable pipeline templates and shared libraries within Azure DevOps Server.
· Integrate JFrog Artifactory for the management of NuGet, Maven, NPM, Gradle, and Docker artifacts.
· Incorporate Fortify SAST/DAST scanning stages along with policy-based gating.
· Implement secrets management using HashiCorp Vault, aligning access patterns with SecurEnvoy MFA.
· Demonstrate expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes and Docker.
· Provision environments through Terraform (IaC) and configuration management using Ansible.
· Utilize scripting/programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
· Enable GitOps deployment through Argo CD to OpenShift/Kubernetes.
· Integrate monitoring hooks with tools like AppDynamics, BMC, and Azure Monitoring, and contribute to the development of runbooks.
Qualifications
Required Experience
6 to 10+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE roles, with a focus on enterprise CI/CD practices. Experience in the government or regulatory sectors is advantageous. Strong hands-on experience in production environments is essential.
Technical Skills
Expertise in CI/CD pipeline engineering, agent pools, branching strategies, secure pipeline patterns, containerization (Docker), Kubernetes/OpenShift, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Linux, and scripting. Ability to integrate with Open Text Security tools, manage third-party libraries, and integrate with testing automation tools.
Soft Skills
Ability to collaborate across teams including developers, security personnel, and QA. A coaching mindset, strong documentation skills, and a sense of ownership are essential.
Core Skills / Tooling
Proficiency in Azure DevOps Server, JFrog Artifactory, Fortify SCA, HashiCorp Vault, Terraform, Ansible, OpenShift/Kubernetes, Argo CD, Sigstore/Envoy MFA (desirable), and monitoring tools (AppDynamics/BMC/Azure Monitoring).
