The Senior Director of Business Development will lead strategic initiatives aimed at fostering growth and expanding opportunities within our Aircraft Modification & Integration sector. This pivotal executive role entails conducting in-depth market research, performing competitive analyses, and leveraging financial modeling and negotiation skills to secure new business ventures, ultimately driving revenue growth. The Senior Director will be instrumental in formulating and executing the organization’s comprehensive business development strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain a robust 5-year pipeline of new opportunities valued between $10M and $300M, focusing on high-value contracts including multi-award IDIQ and stand-alone projects.
- Act as a vital leader in organic growth initiatives while also contributing to acquisitive growth through targeted identification and competitive insights.
- Represent the organization’s solutions at client meetings, industry forums, and collaborative engagements, ensuring a strong industry presence.
- Continuously analyze market dynamics to stay ahead of trends and shifts.
- Engage with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns, and identify gaps, budgets, and organizational changes that influence client acquisition.
- Identify and qualify new opportunities through a structured gate review process.
- Employ innovative and strategic thinking to devise comprehensive and winning bid strategies.
- Position the organization competitively in the market.
- Identify and qualify potential teaming partners that align with business objectives.
- Create market analyses, competitive assessments, and capability presentations.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding the company’s functional and technical capabilities to enhance competitive offerings.
- Engage with clients through effective communication skills, demonstrating the capability to develop and execute a strategic business plan independently.
- Participate in various color reviews including Black hat sessions, Pink and Red teams, and lessons learned discussions.
- Lead business planning efforts; create, implement, maintain, and update market or client-specific business plans.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
