Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & ExperienceA minimum of 8 years of experience with FPGAs, paired with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years of experience and a Master's degree; or a PhD with at least 3 years of relevant experience.Proficiency in SystemVerilog, C (or C++), and a scripting language such as Python or Tcl.Strong understanding of high-speed digital design principles and challenges.Experience with FPGA build tools, including AMD/Xilinx, Intel, or Lattice.Familiarity with FPGA simulation tools, environments, and test bench development.Knowledge of static timing analysis and timing constraints.Experience in selecting appropriate FPGA parts and pin configurations.Knowledge of video I/O standards and interfaces, including HDMI, DisplayPort, MIPI CSI-2/DSI, and SDI; along with integration of vendor/IP cores.Proficiency with version control systems, such as Git.Experience with Intel Agilex/Stratix and AMD Versal devices is a plus.
About the job
As a key member of our exceptional cross-functional team, you will report directly to the Manager of FPGA – Imaging, contributing to the development of state-of-the-art image and video processing solutions for our da Vinci systems and other robotic platforms. You will collaborate closely with the Vision and Electrical Engineering teams to design, implement, and validate image sensor interfaces and processing algorithms on FPGAs and FPGA SoCs integrated into the platform. Your role will encompass the entire processing pipeline, from image sensor data acquisition to the output on stereo and mono displays.
The successful candidate will have a robust history in FPGA-based video and image processing, demonstrating familiarity with conventional image processing algorithms and image sensor interfaces, while balancing visual quality, performance, and FPGA resource utilization.
