Join Rawafid as a Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in leading our instrumentation and control projects. In this esteemed position, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge instrumentation and control systems. You will mentor junior engineers, ensuring that all projects adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing system performance, enhancing process control, and facilitating effective project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop I&C system architecture, including DCS, PLC, SCADA, and SIS systems.
- Formulate control philosophies and functional narratives for SWRO processes, including membrane trains, high-pressure pump sequencing, CIP automation, and chemical dosing control.
- Select and specify instrumentation for seawater and brine service, including flowmeters (magnetic and ultrasonic), pressure transmitters, level instruments, and analytical instruments (pH, ORP, conductivity, SDI, turbidity).
- Prepare instrument datasheets and technical specifications.
- Create and maintain I/O lists and instrument indexes for project execution.
- Conduct control valve sizing and select corrosion-resistant trims suitable for seawater applications.
- Develop SIS design and perform SIL assessments in accordance with IEC 61511.
- Prepare instrument cable schedules, hook-up drawings, and installation details.
- Design junction boxes and marshalling cabinets.
- Develop instrument location layouts and installation drawings.
- Design fiber optic communication networks for control and instrumentation systems.
- Support technical evaluation of DCS/PLC vendor proposals and submissions.
- Establish alarm management philosophies and rationalization strategies.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements as per IEC 62443.
- Participate in HAZOP studies focusing on control and instrumentation systems.
